2019. Sixteen black and white photographs, glosa.

This series continues Catherine Russ’s exploration of domestic life. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s The Potato Eaters, the work recreates the quiet intensity of an adult daughter’s return to her parents’ home. Everyday life is layered with echoes of art history — reimagined through a New Zealand lens.
